Derby Alerts
Stay informed better than ever with Derby Alerts: Immediate Response Information System. This new technology, which replaces Textcaster, will give you more flexibility and quicker alerts for everything from music and athletic programs to emergency and weather updates. When a parent/guardian enrolls a student in the district, they provide certain contact information. The primary contact that is provided will be notified by the phone number or e-mail listed. This system does have text messaging capabilities, however the primary contact would need to "self-enroll" in the feature by following the steps below:
To login, a contact goes to www.derbyschools.com, then to the "Parents & Students" menu item and clicks the "Derby Alerts System" link. You will then be presented with a page asking for a username and password. The e-mail the primary contact provided at enrollment is the username and to gain your password, you will need to go to "Click Here" link in the "Forgot username/password?" area below the login box. You will be prompted to enter their e-mail address and their password will be e-mailed to them.
Please be sure to check your cell phone plan for any text message fees your wireless provider may charge.
Not a primary contact, but would like to sign up for Derby Alerts?
Subscription will run from date of sign up (sign-up available starting August 9, 2010) to June 30, 2011. To sign up go to www.derbyschools.com, under "Parents & Students", there is a link called "Derby Alerts Sign-Up". Process For Success
What is the Process for Success? The Master Plan is the long-range “map” designed to guide the district into the future. A critical element in that plan is the Process for Success, which includes The Citizen’s Steering Committee and six sub-committees. The Process for Success is excellent opportunity for you to make a difference in the lives of children. This committee will identify goals and objectives for the district, analyze facility conditions, determine needs, develop solutions and cost estimates, identify funding and build consensus on the overall plan.
Opportunities for staff and parent involvement are available. To learn more about which committee might best suit you, visit the district website at www.Derbyschools.com and go the link marked “Committee Opportunities” in the upper, right-hand side of the screen. Applications must be turned in by February 22nd in order to be considered for any of the committees. If you have questions, please talk to your principal or call Cynthia at 788-8426.
